Tommy's the MAN

After reading his thread I soke w/ Tommy about the order process. I called my dealer Cancelled my order! I followed up on other local dealers, and bought a 2SS RS, A6 ,sunroof,polished,Blk/Blk for MSRP. event code 3400 4/30!!

I wish I spoke w/ him earlier in the process so I could have orderd from him, but I just can't wait.
I also found a red/blk 2SS RS m6, being delivered, but they wanted $1k over msrp.

Damn you're right! 30 minutes after I saw your reply I headed over to Lone Star and saw all of the cars on the back lot. I only saw yellow, black, silver and red. No IOM's like I ordered.

It's funny because I asked the sales guy to let me know when they got some in and never heard a peep from anyone at the dealership about it.

I spoke with the sales manager and he said they are holding them for the parade and each dealership in the Houston area will get a couple cars to take and display or sell afterwards.

Sales Manager also told me he was expecting a couple ordered camaros in, but they were already several days late. Guess GM is having some trouble shipping the cars!

They also had a yellow 2LT in the show room, but it was locked and had the SOLD sign on it like you said.

Oh well, still just waiting on mine.

My dealer said my order was called up. How long does it take from there? Anyone know the answer?

I took business 101 to 110... I disagree.
Point I'm trying to make is If the pre-orders were on the street, thats better advertsing and the guy would see it on the street and run to the dealer and place his order.
6K preorders on the streets would SEE more eyeballs then on the dealer floor.

Bobby, granted eyeballs on the car, even just driving on the street at some distance, will generate interest and may get some people into the showroom, but I'm not so sure that that glimpse of a Camaro will have them ordering. You may be right, but I'm thinking that the less enthusiastic, non pre-order shoppers may not be so willing to commit on a car they haven't sat in or test driven. Regardless, we have to take it the way GM wants it, so we wait, hopefully not much longer.

I would jump onthat 1k over MSRP deal if the car, had just what I wanted rather than waiting.

I know I'll get flamed but if I could get a car right now I woulndt mind paying, 3k over MSRP.

Just because you pre-ordered doesn't mean the car is sold. I wonder how many people who pre-ordered are now unable to fulfil the deal? I know of at least a few on these boards.

I also want to re-iterate what someone else said also. Avis/Hertz/Whoever-else car rental companies are customers too. They are buying much more stock than you are. Just because your whine-meter is high doesn't mean you're entitled to a single car, when other customers are ordering 50.

Well, if you go through the various posts you'll see how long most of us have been waiting. Mine was supposedly called up and built the week of March 23rd and my order is currently sitting at 3800 - Vehicle Produced.

I spoke with the sales manager at my dealership this weekend and he said he's been waiting on some ordered cars to come in, but they are several days late already.

Hopefully things will start rolling a little faster now and cars will start shipping. No idea of how long it will take and I don't think anyone has a clue as to how this panning out, but just keep your fingers crossed.

For now just come back to this site every once in a while and get your Camaro fix like the rest of us.

(From last week) Automotive News is showing April production from 4/-4/25 as 6745, YTD production from 1/1-4/25 as 9160, and week of 4/20-4/25 as 2318. That 2318 in one week equates to 463 a day in a 5 day week. This week's issue will have production through week ending May 1.

The problem about those numbers is that they are probably estimates, they might not be accurate.

I just wish GM would confirm all of this.

Didn't Mole say that the max output was 400 a day? So how could they be doing 460 a day?

Not complaining if they are mind you. I'd love it if GM would accept the order from my dealer this week.
