No, it fell short on the numbers. Ended up making 621/718 on the final pull. That's with 16.5psi.

Wow - considering the build and specs on your motor - it seems like you should be seeing way more than 621rwhp, especially at 16.5psi. Do you mind if I ask you if you installed the cam correctly? Is it timed straight up? Did you degree the camshaft when you installed it? The reason I ask is considering everything else you have, and the PSI, it almost seems like the cam isn't timed correctly or something like that. Just asking - please don't take offense.

No offense taken, Texas Speed built it for a huge amount of money, so I'm pretty sure everything is done right. CR is at 9.0:1, which drops power about 70 horses. The 5500ft of elevation kills power up here as well.

Believe me, I'm not making fun of your car at all! I have a lot more respect for your car than a lot of others Camaros and Vettes that make more power but only because their owners have deep pockets and just pay someone else to do all the man work. So not impressive to me. What I love seeing is a guy that's willing to roll up his sleeves, and rip 'n tear and wrench on his own car in his own garage. Much props to those that do that and keep hot rodding alive!

I might be wrong but that clip of the center exhuast is off a different car if you look at the mounting points, and the stainless all the way from headers back, and yours does not seem to be stainless all the way down to the back, and the brackets are not the same ,????? I did the stainless all the way back, and its cost a lot more ,but I wondered why i did later, because it will outlast the car ,and who is going to look under a street car,if you know what i mean ,LOL

Thats a really nice build, but i guess a few dont understand the difference in a mile high, and sea level,my zl1 puts down 650rwhp,and i didnt have to really do much to it compared to what you did,but i am sure if i went to denver and jumped on the old dyno it would be 70-100 down at the rear wheels !!!!!
Really nice good job,but it sucks that you dont get to drive it much, but i know how you feel,I have only driven mine 3 times since I purchased it....

Also, I didn't need to do half of this stuff to make 621whp, that power level is the break in, when I'm done I'll be pushing north of 1200. |

Thanks, with the center tips there isn't room for mufflers, oops...
Snow on the ground as of this morning, but it didn't stick to the roads, just enough to get my truck dirty Truck is finished up, ran a 12.09 with it the other day, still needs some final tweaking, but with the added weight and altitude I think it's safe to say that it's making north of 800 to the tire. |
