I don't know about all that, considering he could hang with a stock SS. You're saying you have the same powerband as a stock SS with bolt ons?

No doubt the SS with Boltons will smoke the 06 GT. The LT, on the other hand, is a Mid 14 second car (As far as I've seen at the local strip). If both of you know how to drag, the 06 should still be able to pull off a win over the LT. But anything can happen on the dragstrip.

I had a 08 GT and can safely say that when my SS was stock it would have been no contest. Like bringing a knife to a gun fight. My GT had a CAI and tune and did mid 13's on its best day. Only thing I liked about that car performance wise was the fact that I could always hook up. The car had no low end torque. It was a very good looking car and drove great. It ran like a top and I always liked the cars fit and finish but it was seriously lacking in the performance department. A stock LS1 F-body could have beat me in it with 13 year old technology. Thats sad. The OP should have told his friend that if he wanted to stand a chance he should have bought a 98-02 V8 F-body, 03-04 Cobra, 03-04 Mach 1, 97+ Vette, or a 05-06 GTO. Performance wise the 05-10 Mustang GT was way behind and lacking for its years.
