2.5in or 3.0in?
I have a stock LS3 right now and trying to get the exhaust but I'm no sure whether i should get the 2.5 or the 3in. I do see myself with SC in the future so perhaps I should get the 3in but in the mean time the 3in will decrease performance? IF I get the 2.5 and i got SC will that 2.5 be sufficient?
Please help, thanks |

Go with the 3" now and save from having to get it later. I do NOT think you lose any HP.

I vote for 3"....if nothing else but for the sound. The 3" is going to be a much deeper tone.
I don't think you're going to loose any power at all. Unless you buy a complete system then the cat-back is probably going to have a 2.5" inlet to hook up to your factory mid-pipes anyway. You just need to do so research because from what I've seen, most of the cat-backs that sound good with the factory headers/mid-pipes will be too loud once you go with headers. Of course everyone has their own preference so you may like the extra loud.

I would go full 3" all the way. I have seen ZERO loss on the car by doing the bigger pipes, even on stock engine cars.

And LG's full setup would be a very good choice.

I went with 3" and I don't even have headers yet! I love the Magnaflow #16483 system.
Go 3" all the way!!

Go with 3". Cant go wrong. I went with the 3" MBRP catback and its pretty darn good. Unlike the Corsa, its got a low deep sound to it. I also seriously doubt i have lost any performance with it either.

It's funny that everyone says this, but both Lingenfelter and Hennessey use a 2.5" exhaust on all their cars...I'm still waiting for proof that 2.5" gives you the same benefit as 3".

I would think that if you like say Borla then go with their cat-back even though it's 2.5". However, if you go with say Magnaflow where you have the choice of 2.5" vs 3".... I would go with 3" for the tone if nothing else. Alot of Mfgs don't give you the choice....it's either 2.5" or 3". I think Magnaflow and maybe SLP are the only ones where you might have a choice. I think most people are saying 3" for sound more than performance.
