DISO

Hoping to talk about the "wonderful" Dealer Installed Swirl Option!

Has anybody had an issue with a dealership when you ask them not to wash the car no matter how dirty it comes off the truck? I haven't mentioned anything yet since it's not on the truck yet even though it was built early/mid July.

I'd rather them not wash at all, especially when I have a 4 hour drive home anyway. I hope they can just do the minimum/basic prep work needed for me to take delivery. My first stop would be to my detailer for a full paint correction, PPF install, and ceramic coating. Second is to my tint guy because no tint = yuck!

every car I buy I always say do not wash it at all. I get a few weird looks or questions like why but I just tell them do not do anything but the inspection and they always followed for me

I’m guessing someone gave you a bad date. 7/10 was a Sunday and they only work Monday thru Thursday.

My dealer asked their GM Rep. All they are required to do is put the car on a lift, check fluid levels and look for leaks. Take it to the gas station(that’s the test drive), fill it with gas and give it to you. Hope you get your car soon!

I am not sure. I found the car locally in transit and well been waiting since July 1st. I hope it comes
Monday as that’s the next ETA I was given

I didn't have any issues when I picked up my car. I had laid the groundwork with the salesman when I placed the order that I didn't want them to do anything other than the mandatory PDI: don't wash it, leave all the plastic on it, no dealer tags, no front license plate bracket (not required in my area), etc., and I reminded him again when the car was a day or two away from arriving at the dealership.

They followed my instructions to the letter, and I brought her home filthy, but it allowed me to do my own full wash, mechanical and chemical decontamination, paint polish, and graphene coating without having to worry about any additional issues their pre-delivery "cleaning" would have caused.

@Green Machine do exactly what Geese1 did with the salesperson. I sent my salesperson a similar email and added to not install the front license plate bracket (I had bought a Sto-n-Sho) and no dealer emblems. Had my detailer buff out the DISO and applied the ceramic coating. Perfection!
