The stock cat has a huge crush for flow to the 02, it is about 1.8” I’d of flow, the brick flows way more than that, the zl1 cat has slightly less crush... factory cat inlet is also twin walled

Oh my, lose power??? Some of the stuff that gets regurgitated on forums.

Deleting primary cats are worth around 5-7 rwhp, secondaries are around 5rwhp as well. If you do it or not depends on where you live and if you are OK with the ramifications. Deleting primaries requires turning all of the post cat O2 codes off, that requires a custom tune and means risking your powertrain warranty.

He's not talking about deleting the primary, he is gutting them, which does NOT change the size of the primary restriction at the 02...

CA offroad pipes are great and you can move the rear 02 to behind the rear CATS

6 HP of stock, say 10 HP with a cam and heads, 15 HP with 700 to 800 HP FI setup. Be aware and you can read all about it on the ZL1 forum that cat deletes suck as a DD. I'm back to all 4 cats (front modified flowmaster angle cats) just because it is a DD and has a large cam... My m6 just works better and sounds better with cats period.

Yeah I thought he meant gutting. I know delete pipes will gain a bit of power. Gutting doesn’t. You will lose about a tenth on a stock car..bout enough to gap folks
