Removing stripes after 2 years???

Hey guys, I have a ABM with white stripes and MS rims. I love the look but after 2 years I am getting tired of it looking like the other 3,000 ABMs out there! SO I was thinking about removing my stripes and having none.

The Idea... Gloss black stock rims, with spacers to bring the wheels out a bit

Lower car 1"

Dark Tinted windows

Mabey a few gloss black accents here and there

Every ABM I see is the same white stripes with silver wheels... and I kinda want a tuffer look too! Can these stock stripes be pealed off and leave my paint good?

Haha, I have an ABM with white stripes.

I took the white stripes off.... and added different style white stripes! Hahaha

As for your question, it really depends. If you have waxed and taken car of your car, you will notice the stripe outline less. If you have not taken great car of your car, be prepared to easily see the stripe outline.

The stripe outline is not a by-product of the stripes, but rather of the fact that the rays of the sun are hitting your paint, but not the paint under the stripe.

It is analogous to a tan line... but for the car.

In my limited knowledge, I don't think it is possible to have stripes for a long time, and have zero outline, just because no matter what protection or wax you have, the sun still is hitting the paint, but not hitting the paint with the stripes on top.

However, I *believe*, that if you do have the outline, that if you take a machine buffer and some m105/m205 you can get it to be pretty close to perfect.

Thanks... ya my car sits in a garage over night and at work... been this way for the hole 2 years... always waxed and glazed So my paint should be about perfect, the only time it see's the sun is when its out driving or at the track.

Did you remove the stripes yourself, what did you use and what about glue cleanup?
