Anyone on a weight loss program?

Anyone done a weight loss program for their car? What were you able to get down to and what did it take to get there?

There is a pretty in depth thread here on C5 that discusses this.

Mine is at 3450lbs full tank. Plenty more to go, my engine exhaust all stock. Z/28 rims now on brembo race brakes but was on z/28 carbons. Interior total gut job so really depends how low you want to go lol. I slowly chipped away since I bought it in 2012 and plenty more to go with future mods, goal is 3300. I also have a 150lbs welded rear cage in the car so you can go really low on car. With aluminum coilovers, headers, exhaust better wheels (forgelines), clutch/flywheel propshaft upgrades easily another 100lbs. Glass to lexan, door metal cutting and wire harness reduction even more. Cut the rear tire well in trunk out (thread on that) 20lbs off too. Oh man now you got me all messed up again winter will be getting more out of my car.

For starters seats and rear seat delete is massive savings. Toss engine cover too. Rims and brakes even more since it rotates. Keeps it stockish comfy but 100-150lbs easily out and the rotating is like horsepower. You will feel the difference especially if you track.

Interesting this popped up again. I can’t find the danged formula from years ago, but someone took the time to come up with a weight loss to hp equivalent chart.

I’ll keep looking for it but the jist of it is you “gain” one hp for every 8lbs you lose. There was an entire section that broke it down to weight limits in racing and motorcycle racers and how they really, really watch their weight and horse jockeys have a minimum weight limit etc.
