ROOKIE at the strip!!!
Guys I have a 2013 auto SS. Tomorrow looks like it will be my first time on the strip. I have never done this before. Any tips and things not to do would be greatly appreciated. I’m nervous as hell. Do I run in stabiltrack? I really am new to this.

Might depend on which transmission your car has.
You might get more or better dragstrip suggestions for where to set Stabilitrak/traction control over in the Dragstrip and Launch Techniques section. Norm

Yeah, this is posted in the wrong section. In the Dragstrip and Launch Techniques subforum, there is a sticky at the top with a lot of good information. I'll make it easy on you. Click here: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=317537

What mods do you have? Generally if your close to stock with a street tire just start with a half throttle punch and see what it does. If it hooks right away nail it and the next pass try a bit more gas off the line. If it spins let it finish and then nail it and next time a little less throttle off the line.
Cars hook better at the track then on the street. So be prepared to go. You can let a little air pressure out of your tires too but if they are street tires it won't do much. |
