Has anyone ever used a scissor lift?

I was thinking that picking up a scissor lift may be useful, but I wonder why I haven't seen more of them. Has anyone tried using one before?

Looking at one from harbor freight for $800 after discounts: http://www.harborfreight.com/6000-lb...ump-46604.html

2010 Camaro SS modified extensively. I stretched the body to make it a 4 door, but I swapped in the 3.6L DI V6 for fuel economy. Then I picked up a corvette body around the V8. I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)

I have never used one but after looking at the pic of it, it looks like the kind that you have to "drive over" or "slide under" our car. I think that the Camaro sets too low to the ground for something like this. You may want to make sure that it will work before you buy!!

I've got a kwiklift: http://www.kwiklift.com/features-all.htm It's a drive on ramp that allows you to get the car 20" off the ground. Creeper rolls under no problem. The Kwiklift fits in any standard garage.

Instead of spending money on these, just go ahead and get a 4 post lift and also then be able to park another car or toy under your car, plus be able to do maintenance things a whole lot easier....my $.02

What's the garage height requirement for a 4 post lift?

I would shop the net first before I bought the one at Costco. I bought a 4-post lift a little over a year ago and paid $1,600 including shipping. When you start looking at the less expensive, imported lifts, (hobby lifts) I found out they all are the same lift just sold through different wholesale distributors with their own set of stickers...
