Whatever the Case this will end up being. Looks like Camaro will win for 2012 but in 2013 Camaro ZL1 might not be able to win mainly due to its weight problem and also Chevrolet is going to have to make the Camaros faster than Corvettes for a change in order to put an end to the Mustang there cant be anymore cant step on the Corvettes toes stuff the cars cater to two different buyers.

Exactly. Is the cts-v hurting z06 sales?
The next gen ZR1 should be 700hp anyway. Low boost ls7, or just more boost on current motor.
The Camaro should be 600hp. 38 HP less, for now, but 50 more than the current Shelby. The wars will not go on forever, so get it done.

The 2013 GT500 which will come out a few months after the ZL1, will have at least 650hp. I went to my local bowtie dealer this past weekend....27 people on a list to order the ZL1! MSRP though so that is good.

alot of faithful people- given the fact the msrp isnt know- they are either sure they want to buy and dont care about msrp- or theyre going to back out once its released.

the dealer is known to deal in MSRP on hot cars...even when the 5th gen first came out...all dealers around where doing the usual SoCal Mark-Ups except this one. DeJaVu again for me. Back in early 2009, went to this dealer and they had so many ahead of me so I went 45 minutes away and paid dealer mark up for 2010 SS to get their open allocation. I will exercise patience this time.

The 650hp GT500 seems like a stretch. I know lots of guys who own one, and getting that kind of power out of a car with full warranty will not be cheap. I mean, some guys paid almost 100G's for a KR, so this would make more sense for any amount less I guess.
I'm interested to see what the ZL-1 will cost up here. 60g's?

I will have a hard time not getting a 2013 Shelby if it is twin turbo charged and has 650 hp. Think of the numbers tuners will get with that kind of set up

They had better make some very impressive chasis changes to that GT500, else it could have 1000 HP....doesn't matter if you can't put it on the ground.

But I'm sure Ford knows this....I can't wait to see these two cars go at it!

They did last year. My 2011 puts the power just fine, even with my 20" street tires.

I don't think the high end 650hp Mustang is being made to compete with the ZL1, I have heard that there still will be a 550hp GT500 (maybe more hp to compete) but at a much lower MSRP than the ZL1. The TT SVT Mustang is being made to make the GT500 look small because it will eventually take the GT500s place.

The ZL1 is not what said Terminator is after, it is there merely to end the dominance of the GT500 as the HALO Mustang...

No, not a stretch at all. You can get a dealer warranty now on the 'tame' supercharger upgrade for the Shelby at 650HP. If you want to go without warranty, Ford upgrades are available up past 750HP. Getting that kind of power out of a 'standard' car is not cheap.... but the GT500 is a different beast, being the only platform ot offer bulletproof FORGED internals and bulletproof transmission\drivetrain.

Would you be so kind as to PM me this dealer? I already have a couple in mind, but they're about 3000 miles ways
