Depends how "valuable" you deem your warranty...and depends on what you want.

We've had experience with the LS7 retro'd to a C5 Z06 (one of LPE's first). Made great power (525-480 rwhp/tq), in a linear fashion, that was fantastic for road racing. Much better than the previous 600-600-to-the-wheels TT 346, as far as predictability and corner-exit control on "required" Michelin PS2s. About as quick around most tracks as the TT (the shorter/tighter, the better), but not as fast, ultimately. 7 mph difference down the straight at Road America. 100+ lbs. lighter, right off the nose, than the TT.

Speed co$t$...how fast/quick ya wanna go?!

I get it. So, would you modify an LS7 in the new Z/28?

I've had a highly modified LS3 in an SS. It was a head cam NA build. I was awesome but had its quirks.

Up until now, the warranty on the ZL1 has been more important than the straight power. That may change at some point.

Try it first, and see what you think. You can always get "spend-y" if you think you need to.

For a street-track thrill machine, more is always better. But I have a feeling this one will be mighty fine, out-o-the-box!

The house has been busy. Where should I start?

Vette vs Camaro

If you show up at a road course for a track day with a ZR1 is anyone really shocked that you turned in the FTD? Show up with a 5th Gen and post the FTD. Enjoy.

Z/28 vs 2014 C7

How cool is it that the fastest road course car sold by Chevrolet is a 5th Gen Z/28. Enjoy for a year until the C7 ZR1 or Z06 hit the track.

Under Powered ZL1

Can you spell S P O I L E D? Do I enjoy 600 RWHP? Am I slow with only 500?

CC Brakes

The cool factor alone is worth every penny.

Warranty

We live in the Unobtainium Age of Performance Cars!!!!!

Yes, I agree with you. I don't spoil myself with much. But one could construe my comments above and my thoughts on the subject as being spoiled. That said, I can't change the way I feel. I'm not jumping off a bridge over it and still feel the car is plenty fast. It's just the "HP junky" in me that wants (not needs) more power.

Just leave it at money. With too much money you can afford too much RWHP.

You can still buy raised white letter tires. Just not sure if it's photoshopped on the car. My guess is that someone took pics of the Z/28 and photoshopped pretty much everything to make it an IROC.
