Interior inserts??

So I see replacement door panel inserts, but I have yet to find the dash inserts.

I would like to color match my dash and doors to my body color any help, tips, suggestions?

I would also like to find a red shifter boot.

Thanks

Gm has them from the dealer. It's very costly but looks great. If I remember, I think I paid around $440 for my set. Rpi also has a painted version but for the cost, may as well go with original equipment.

How hard are the dash inserts to change out?

You can also just get the cloth inserts from a base model, rip the fabric off, sand smooth and the prime and paint. I did this with my 1SS

That's interesting, my car doesn't have cloth in those areas. It's just plastic. If those come out fairly easy without screwing them up I will probably go that route.

The doors you will have to remove the panel and cut off the plastic rivet heads to get them out. Then you will have to find just the right length screws to reinstall after you paint them. Be VERY CAREFUL if the screws are too long it will go right through the panel into the inside of the car.

This was another reason I went with the gm kit. They provide the right screws to use. Plus there's no way you can make them look like factory if painted. No matter how good you can paint, you will never get the same depth with the clearcoat that the factory does. Because the factory are painted on the back not the front.

Tell you what, I have a spare set of panels in silver. If you want them I'll let ya have them cheap, plus whatever the shipping will be. This way you can paint, and let it cure for a bit without taking apart the car until you are ready to do the install. PM me.
