Get the 1.4L turbo. It has the same HP as the 1.8L but more torque and better mpg. My fiancé had a hatchback. Great car and nice for long drives. Gas mileage was about the same as my motorcycle, but a lot more comfortable riding cross country. Awesome daily driver.

I'd rather have a Cruze Eco, but for what it is ... a Sonic seems like a pretty nice car. If your drive is biased towards urban vs highway, and if you've got a 2nd (larger) vehicle to supplement it, a Sonic can be a great choice.

Thanks guys. I will have to see what kind of prices I can get from my dealer (car dealer lol) when I get back. If I can hop in a hatch for a good price, I'm all for it. If not, the sedan still appeals to me.

Well, then yes. It is a sub-compact hatchback like the Metro. But I wouldn't say that they look similar, as that would mean they share style elements like body lines -and they don't. If all it takes to look similar is size & type, then a 2014 Mustang looks like a 1994 Camaro or 1974 Barracuda
