Post your Hydro Dipped Pics!
Looking to see kind of stuff everyone has gone with for those that have had parts hydro dipped/hydrocarbon. I myself am going with a dark blue/black carbon theme for my interior pieces. Post em up!

How much should it cost to have something hydro dipped? I just got a quote from a shop that I 'was' going to take my car to for paint and everything at once, but they want $1675 for just the interior pieces dipped with the carbon fiber look lol.

I have a couple of pieces...I think 2 are unique...my gear shift knob...and center caps on my wheels. The center piece on my havoc rear diffuser is Hydro dipped also, but I haven't taken a good picture yet.

Are you removing (and re-installing) the pieces and dropping them off, or is the shop removing them, because that will add to the cost. Door inserts, dash trim pieces, console pieces and steering wheel peices can be stripped out in an hr or so, then a little longer to install (gotta be a little more careful not to scratch). $1675 is high for just interior pieces, around $1000 is more in the ballpark. The interior panels can be a bear to do because the finish on those plastic pieces is very hard and it needs to be scuffed up very well for the paint to adhere and last. Just remember a dipped piece is always going to cost more than a good paint job, because it is the exact same process except with extra steps. Last edited by NC-V; 02-07-2013 at 08:44 PM.
