i always thought that the rear fluid lasted like over 50k miles on most cars. i've had mine changed 2x and now it's making noise again. car only has about 18.5k miles on it.

The reverse moan is not a problem. I mean seriously, how much time do you spend in reverse?

just got a call from my service guy and looks like it'll be an overnighter. They are waiting on parts for the rear diff. It will be interesting to see what they replace when I get it back tomorrow. For me the moan was most noticable when backing and turning but I was also hearing it when moving foward and turning slow.

I know they did it with mine cause I saw them doing it, still makes noise now.

Yes I hear it when I am pulling into parking spot making a left hand turn, but also when backing and mostly in the morning before the fluid warms up and is distributed.

got her back yesterday afternoon. No moan, but we'll see what it sounds like after about 3k. They replaced the clutch plates. Only noticable change is that the car seems to accelerate a little quicker from a stop, may just be my imagination though or the fact I was driving a 150hp loaner for 4 days.

I havent taken mine in for it, but I also had not heard that about 7500 miles. Since it isnt in the manual I suspect that is BS.

That's what they did with mine. We'll see how it acts in about 2k miles. I also did some asking around and the likely root cause may be improper shimming of the clutch plates. I don't know about the 7500 mile bit, that's does not sound right unless you are racing then I think you should do it every race??

I just looked through the Owners Manual for the 2011 Camaro and saw that the two different change schedules (normal and severe) for the rear differential fluid are at 100,000 miles and 50,000 miles respectively. I would suggest speaking with the dealership again on when to change out these fluids to make sure everything matches up with whats in your owners manual. Also I hope these new parts are what cures your noise issues. Let us know how it goes for you!
