Depends, sticky tires, drag strip, supercharged?

There is a run a member posted, fasnuf name on youtube where his NA red Camaro hooks and makes a nice run down the strip. IIRC it has a converter and 3.91s on a prepared strip and sticky tires.

On the street with high hp supercharged I wouldn't bother as you said, just tire spin. On NA street depends on how serious you are and if you run extra sticky tires.

I guess I was told 3.45 because I’ll be doing a Whipple with the stage 2 cam. Makes more sense now that you point that out. 3.91 would probably be better with a cam.

As far as gears...man, they just make the car want to pull on the highway. I just did a 5 hour drive today and wasn't even hitting it and the car just wanted to go, it was just smooth.
Stopped in GPI today- James says they sell a lot of the Powerbond 25% UDPs to 10/11 owners and they just don't see any issues coming back regarding engine cooling or battery charging, etc. However he does plan to add in a 180 degree thermostat to my build for good measure.

I'm planning to pick up on the 31st. Might be done sooner, but they are also in the middle of moving to their new location a few miles away, so we'll see how it goes.

Can't wait to see the transformation.
What type of aircraft do you fly, if you don't mind me asking?

Update. Most of the work is complete. GPI machinists finishing up the cylinder heads, should be done today so dyno tomorrow or Friday. Last chance to guess WHP on the poll! Just a recap of what was done over the last week: GPI SS3 VVT cam, Circle D 36-3800 stall, GPI ported cylinder heads, GPI ported/rod mod manifold, 25% UDP, 3.91 gear, xmsn cooler, catch can, 180° thermostat, additional ground cable, etc. Will post results soon.

Your initial 390 whp is 20 rwhp or so too high. I would say your first mods gave you 365 to 370 whp. I'm betting your ca will be 470 whp when. That's almost 100 whp increase.
