Got an email back from Arno, he said it sounds like the clutches are slipping and he will increase the line pressure. See if we can get this piece of the puzzle figured out.

Been updating the other thread, but I did a few runs with the LFX manifold. I only got to 13.028 @ 109.74 but trapped 111.11 on the run that I took massive amounts of methanol off the car. Decided to set my meth up this time by only coming on at 8 psi, see what happens. Doing boost leak tests and verifying everything will work fine.

The one with the LFX manifold, 111.11. The highest LLT manifold one was 1 mph slower.

Still saving up for them, had to buy an exhaust for my 5.0, the stock exhaust wasn't working anymore.

It started at 1634 miles, I tuned it and put an intake on it. With just those mods it ran 12.9 @ 110 with a 2.2 60'. It was faster than the local Camaro V8's with headers. The ones with cams are too fast right now for the 5.0, but I plan on doing a Boss 302 intake manifold.
My V6 Camaro is fast and has respect at our track, but the 5.0 is just a fun daily car. On my Camaro, I am going to have to switch my wideband to read lambda, not AFR. Since I use 10% ethanol the AFR reads leaner than the true amount. |

I set my meth kit to turn on at 11 PSI, so it doesn't come on at all right now and the car runs great. With the LFX manifold I'm getting a little bit of knock but my AFR is at 12.5 even with the smaller pulley. Going to run it as is tomorrow at the track to see if the meth was slowing me down, I've been reading that it can cause the car to run too rich unless you have it tuned to run leaner and more timing.

Not trying to get my hopes up but I might be getting a SS differential with 3.91 gears and the JRE posi mod. Will also have differential bushings already installed. Expensive but my wife said I could buy it. It will give me a first gear final ratio of 15.8746 compared to the 13.2762 I have now. Should get the car out of the hole real fast.

Very nice. Cant wait to see some results with the supercharger and gears. You should be the first with that set up.

UPS is delivering my differential on Thursday. Temps are below 40 right now but I might be able to start the install on Friday. I will not be able to drive till next Wednesday though since the temps are so low. After this install, my car will be completed except for drag radials. We will be saving like crazy to get a ProCharger kit for the Mustang to have a good race finally.
Mods being installed: Driveshaft Shop One-piece Driveshaft SS rear end with BMR bushings, 3.91 gears, JRE Posi Mod 1LE axles and hubs. |
