I must disagree as well. I am IOM, but my package is different than the others I have seen. I like the difference. When I open the hood, it is different.

The ZL1 just reminds me there is still a thing called reasonably priced and affordability in this country. The ZL1 will be limited in the production due to cost. Most of us working our way up the power band will not spend the amounts others will to own the power of the ZL1. You do it on your terms and time frame. There are those who have saved, or who can afford to buy the ZL1 in its current range, and others on this forum whom will help to keep the cost reasonable based on sticker.

As others have said, it is all about what you want. If you really want the ZL1 and are envious of it, then it might be what you should get. Sacrifice and make adjustments so you can get it. If not, make your unique and don't look back.

Talking

I respect your opinion, OP, but my 2012 IOM Camaro SS/RS/L99 is anything but plain! I have never in my life received so many compliments on a car! I thought when I had my 2006 Mustang GT back in 2005 that I got some nice compliments, because the whole retro look was so new. Nothing compares to what I receive today! Everyone looks, comments, and wants to come get a closer look at my car. I am loving the attention, and I am in love with driving again! It is such a sweet ride, and a great vehicle!!

The ZL1 still takes the cake in the looks dept.
GTR is starting to look a bit old.

I think its kind of silly to try and modify a one or two year old car to look like something its not...I'm perfectly content with mine how it is...If I thought I had to imitate new feaures of newer models, I would have just planned on trading in the car every year!...but that's just me...enjoy!

Nope. Have to disagree. ZL1 is nice but so is the SS. Of course ZL 1 is faster stock but so what. Love my SS.

You can either spend an extra $20k for a ZL1 or about $3k to 'un-bland' your SS. We're at the point with aftermarket that all stock Camaros are a little bland in comparison. As for the ZL1, what are most people going to do with one?
Oooooo! look at me. Lick my boots. I have a ZL1! Most people won't use them for anything more than we use our SS for, tooling around town. That being said, I might get one.

I don't think my car looks plain, but I do wish it had come with transformers style fog lamps from the get-go... But I'm not going to lie, if I could afford it, and it existed, I'd buy a light/medium blue ZL1. But until GM even comes out with an updated blue, there is absolutely no temptation to buy a ZL1. I settled on white the first time, and I won't do it again. Even though I love the clean look of white, I really really really wanted ABM.

I have no interest in a ZL1. Yes, suspension is nice but thats about it for me...

Not a chance! I love the ZL1 but I've always had my mind set on making my car "mine", and make it unique. It's a blast watching it transform from a stok car to my vision for it. I'm in love with my car. Even if I bought a ZL1, I would change the wheels, possibly the hood, the spoiler, exhaust, larger blower, etc so it wouldn't look like another ZL1. That's just the nature of what I like to do.

i have to agree that modding up your car will make you closer and feel pride in your car (more than normal) i know when i modd up my camaro i wll definatly feel like its speical more than the zl1 not to take anything from it. do some mods cosmetic and under the hood you will feel more attatched to your car han ever before
