ON*Star finally expired, need tips on getting a discount/loop hole - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Ok so one gracious year has gone by with my Camaro and finally the trial one year of the directions and connectivity with ON'Star has finally expired but I feel as if it is a bit expensive for the offer they sent me in the mail. I was wondering if anyone had any good incentive deal codes or something I could do to get this service for cheaper than what the standard price is. I didn't really take full advantage of the service, but it is awesome, especially with the new Smartphone app the they have just came out with. So leave your comments and please no trolling. I am not cheap, nor am I a con artist.

TIP : those who have come to like the XM, just ask them for a special deal that they have offered friends of yours and it is a $7/month plan which I feel is unbeatable for such a great music service.

There are none...mine expired in May and I asked and was told no...dropped the Directions and Connections, but kept the rest....

FYI the iPhone/Android app only works on 2011 and up. New hardware.

Wait and wait for about 5 months and every month you will see the offers getting better and better.. They will even throw in 6 more free months at some point to get you to sign up. Oh wait, I was thinking about XM/ Sirius..lol.. I guess you'll have to wait and see if they do offer you something better.. I got and offer from XM for $5 a month..btw..

I told Onstar I liked the service but it was just way too expensive for me and what can they do. They said they have a special for $50 off and I took it, $250 for the year of everything.

When I login to Onstar I see discounted prices.
It takes me to the GM family first page. Maybe because I used GM family first to purchase my car?

That $249.99 is the price I see for the directions and connections plan.

Blah. The email updates I get already list several things that the app does. And from what I understand, the unlock/remote start works by going through OnStar to send a signal.

So, how much of OnStar do I need to keep and pay for in order to be able to send destinations to the car through the Virtual Advisor thing? And what level will I need to use the Android app that's coming out?

Their are 2 diff packages you can get ( as far as I know ). The top pack gets you the gps and all. I paid $ 249.95. Call on star on your car and ask them for thrir best price for the package you want.

I just got an e-mail the other day offering a $50 discount on the Directions & Connections plan. Just wait it out and they'll probably try to get you back.
