I hear another was just stolen from McKinney Chevy in Lowell. Same story broke in used the keys to drive it out of the showroom.

Doesn't fuse #7 disable onstar?....and keep the keys in a lock box......

He confessed to stealing 8 cars totalling $600k but he's only being charged with one count of breaking and entering and one case of larceny?

What happend to Grand Theft Auto?? times eight????

I believe that the OnStar system has a separate, hidden backup battery for that purpose

In NC there is no difference between grand and petit larceny, larceny is simply a class H felony. Much easier to get a conviction this way. Also the crimes were spread between NC and SC. So when NC is done with him, he gets to see what SC has in store for him.
