Lowering on coilovers

My car had had Ohlins coilovers on for 2 years. The car was nose high with this kit and no ride height adjustment. Recently, I lowered the front with shorter main springs and some helper springs. Should I do the same with the rear or keep the rake? I mostly do track days and back road driving in the car. Not a drag racer.

Talking Looks Good

I like it the way you have it now, it is the same rake I have on mine. I did not like the way mine sat nose high after installing BMR lowering springs so I made 1/2" spacers for the rear struts.

Vicster, thanks for the feedback. I like the zl1 with rake too. Plus, these cars are low in the back and I have scaped the exhaust under the diff in the past.

Also, these cars are too soft stock on the road course. I went to almost 3 time the stock spring rates in front, which works wrll on track.

Too much rake can move the balance towards oversteer.
What spring rates did you use and what anti-roll bars are you using?

The kit came with 400 lb/in front and 600 lb/in rear. I opted for 575 lb/in front. The shorter springs on the car in the picture are 400 lb/in. I haven't tracked the car with the new setup.

I think you might be too low in the front compared to the rear, what are your ride heights? Measured from the bottom of the wheel lip up to the fender edge, in millimeters.
IIRC the OE rake on my 1LE was about 17mm.

How was the balance with the old 575 front/600 rear? And what anti-roll bars are you running?
Going to a softer spring with the same rear should move the balance towards oversteer. Plus, adding all that rake adds more oversteer.

Your welcome. Here is my build, there is a section on what I have done to the suspension on my ZL1. The car handles like it is on rails, I have pulled 1.2 g's around street corners. It is a blast!
I did try the 1.4" front lower springs, but the 295 front tires would rub.
