I bought a Corvette shortly after I turned 35. Drove it for a year & sold it. Hated that car.
Spent the next decade driving a perfectly respectable, but utterly boring, Lexus ES330. 2 weeks after my 45th birthday, I bought the Camaro. My wife, bless her heart, didn't bat an eyelash when I came home with it. :-) |

Ha Ha, was 34 when I bought mine so I guess so! Spent a decade driving various trucks, but I'm alone in them 90% of the time and it felt like a waste. I have access to trucks whenever I need to haul so wife one day says "get what you want, but no 2 seater (kids)." Really tried to sell her on a grand sport but no dice. Always loved the 5th gen too so here we are lol. I drive plenty of fast cars at work and various friends and family but it's so much more fun commuting back and forth in my own. Never to old

My 2 personal favorites...
"cant hide money" and "must be nice" Im 41 with a wife of 42 and have raised 4 kids. We drove a minivan and a Suburban because it was practical. So when we bought a Charger last year and a Camaro this year you would think the universe was about to explode the way people were acting. Ya damn right its nice. |

Turned 40 in September. Bought my 15 1LE in February of this year. Yes, for me it was kind of a mid life crisis move.
I had many cars when I was younger. Mostly 68-72 novas. My wife and I got married when I was 29, and by 31 we had 2 kids and I panicked and got out of the car game completely. I drove mostly boring company cars fora few years, then I got into offroading for a minute, then had a WRX but still had the itch for some modern American muscle so I bit the bullet and bought one. |

When I bought my 1LE in 2014 at 47 everyone said it was a midlife crisis car! I said...ah, no. I bought my first Camaro in 1986 at 19! Still have it! Raced dirt Late Model Racecars for 23 years and shelfed the Camaro passion. But sold the race team in 2013 and went back to my Camaro passion.
So for me it is a "life crisis"! |

If 35 is mid-life, I can't imagine what folks think of 46.
Oh, that's right... I don't give a shit what anyone else thinks. |

I can kind of related to what samman11 commented on a few weeks ago. I'm 52 and have always wanted to have a Camaro ever since I was 16, but I could never really afford one when I was younger and it wasn't really practical either. Now I'm 52 and looking for a 2015 or 2016 Camaro convertible for a 2nd car for fun summer days. I haven't taken a vacation (other than a staycation) in over 25 years and really don't spend much money on much else other than some musical instruments for my hobby.
I'm at the point in my life where the car would only cost me 2 or 3 percent of my net worth now, yet my wife is still dead set against me getting that car. Perhaps it's a bit of a mid-life crises sort of thing in that I realize that I can now afford to have something that I've wanted all my life. Instead of buying a sports car, I could be doing a lot worse things such as trading in my wife for someone a lot younger. Frustrating... |

I've had Camaro's or Firebirds most of my adult life, Just bought a new 2015 2SS/RS in January, I'll be 60 in August, My nephew said, are you going through a mid life crisis, I told him "Don't I wish" " I'm way too old for a mid life crisis".
