This is a great write up. You can also do this by removing the one fastener on the bottom and the one directly above it on the side of the trunk liner. You can then lift up and access the fuse panel easily. (No need to remove everything)

I did this mod today and love the sound. It's a more even tone through the rev range and adds a bit of volume and growl. The car should have come like this from the factory.

Dual mode comes as a factory option but comes stock with zl1 and z28 im not too sure about the 1le..
Factory option, as in not standard/stock, on the 1LE.

Finally something to do to my camaro that doesn't require much investment in terms of time and money! On my previous SS I did a muffler delete and thought that it was the best mod I ever did. Just pulling the fuse out and being able to enjoy all that great sound is awesome! Thanks for the idea! Took me about 10 minutes of work and then several hours of driving pleasure!

Fuse pull for exhaust on V6?

Can this work on a 2012 LS V6 too? Or only for v8 SS and ZL1??...

This only works on vehicles with the NPP exhaust installed. Last I checked that was only on the ZL1 and an option on the SS/1LE.

Thank you for this write-up. Instructions were perfect - did the mod yesterday. Probably took me about 2 minutes longer than anticipated as I was trying to pop off the flat black plastic revit instead of unscrewing it.

What a difference in sound this mod makes. I'll never put the fuse back in. It's totally not too loud with it out, and you get that beautiful popping and burbling on decel way more pronounced.

Just did this to mine. Taking the plastic off from the cargo area was a pain in the ass. No start-up difference, and no effect on 4th gear and up. It's pretty cool though.

Doesn't matter if it's AT or MT. As long as you have the NPP exhaust (which you do in the ZL1), you can do this.

I installed the mild to wild mod to the car. playing with the on and off settings taught me something. there is about a 2 to 3 second delay when they open and close. So if the mufflers release back pressure wouldnt u see more horsepower with the fuse pulled. has anyone tested it.
