Yeah some complain some don't. Just best for everyone to know that if they do change out the pads they MAY have increased noise.

Rudy,

I just bought some Pirellis on 17" MSW silver rims from you guys. I live in MD, but plan on driving to Pittsburgh and NY throughout the winter. When would u suggest switching out the winters for my summers?

Also, will running the summers in 35 degree F weather (in the mornings) when it gets up to 52 in the afternoons be a problem?

Thanks,
Steve

(btw i didnt mention C5 in my order- sorry about that, would it help to send u a PM with the order #?)

I have already put my winters on. Anytime now is fine. If it gets into the 50's on occasion thats not a problem and the temps will be dropping pretty fast now.

Oh yes please shoot me a PM wiht your order #.

Thanks!

Rudy, why weren't the Pirelli Scorpions tested as part of all that?

^ Just hasn;t worked out as they are more a large car/SUV style tire. I can tell you they work great on Camaros. Lots of expierence with the Scorpion and everyone I have dealt with has been very satisfied.

Hey Rudy!
I live about an hour north of Toronto and we get some pretty good snow storms every now and then. I'm looking to get some good tires to tame the roads.
I'm undecided on either the Blizzaks or the Pirelli's.
I've got a 1LT RS. I'd like to drop the wheel size to either 17" or 18"...preferably 17".
I've been told by local dealers that I can't go any smaller than the 20's that are on the car now, but they couldn't give me a reason why. After reading your thread I assume that reason would be the "roller skate" brakes. My car does NOT have those.
Since money is a little tight, what combo do you suggest? Tires and wheels.
You probable already know this but my current tire sizes are 245/45ZR20 on the front and 275/40ZR20 on the rear

Thanks for taking the time to answer everyone's questions!

^ I would go with the 17 inch preferred package with the Blizzaks on the website. It will fit your car no problems and 17 in Blizzaks will dominate the snow. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thumbs up 17" Blizzaks WS70 w/ MSW Type 22 rims

Hey all,

Well, I actually ordered my wheels a few weeks ago, but only got around to putting them on yesterday.
Ordered them Sunday afternoon, delivered to my door on Wednesday morning!! Keep in mind I'm in Canada. The price couldn't be beat anywhere either, and I shopped around, trust me! So, big kudoz to TireRack!

Here are the pictures:

I haven't put too many kilometers on them yet, but they are surprisingly quiet. The car feels a little "wobbly", compared to the wider and lower aspect ratio Pirellis, but that's to be expected. Snow should be here before the end of the week, can't wait to try them!
