However, if it's ok to throw my car on the lyft, it'd definitely be helpful to have a group of guys present who share a knowledge of the 5th gen.

BUT because the job is a known PITA, it doesn't have to be done, and I'd still be happy to attend a mod day.
I have pulled the motor trans and driveshaft out of a 2011 bmw 328i xdrive by myself to replace the motor so I am sure with a couple people that should not be a problem

The inserts are quite easy. Just need a real nice big torque wrench to retorque those subframe bolts and something to support the subframe with. Who hosts this kinda stuff? I would have loved to have access to a list when i did my end lol.

Thanks for the assurance! Also, closs2sx, I gotta commend you for pulling the driveline on an E90. That can't be easy.

I'm guessing you probably have most of the major tools that I have, but I too have a big @$$ torq wrench that should get the job done, along with an impact gun and impact sockets (if needed).

Have plenty of tools multiple air impacts multiple battery impacts even a miller 252 welder and a hypertherm plasma cutter and have multiple snap on torque wrenches including a 1/2 and 3/8 drive electronic ones that allow torque to angles.

Oh, he has the tools. I have enough for what you need and a lift too and I don't live in the middle of nowhere. Well actually I sort of do, but Brett needs to get here! He doesn't call, he doesn't write. Well ok, he does text.

Seriously, we can do this either place but I can tell you Brett knows what he is doing, is always helpful and a great guy. We should plan this day. We can stay apart enough and still get cars done.

Brett if you need an excuse, I have a bracket and a clutch reservoir so I can separate the clutch and brake fluid in my ZL1 and I need to bleed the brakes so I have something you can help with.

Cool! No complaints from me about distance. My car is my daily, and I've been working from home since 3/2... I think I've filled the tank maybe 3 times. At this point, long drives are a welcome change.

We need to determine where and when.
I am pretty much free any day right now.
But I don't take my car out in bad weather.

I have to take time or I will lose it so I could do any day as well given enough notice and Dans place or mine is fine and like Dan I don't drive mine in bad weather but can drive my daily. If its rainy and we do it at my house I only have one lift available on a nice day I have 3 but 2 are 4 post so if you have to pull wheels off it can be done but not quick and easy.

Just an FYI - A simple brake bleed and flush on the 68 truck is turning into a project and my truck is on the lift right now. Hopefully not more than this weekend.

You guys still planning a workshop day? I don't have to do anything until my clutch decides to quit but i wouldn't mind helping, or drinking beer. My car also only goes out on nice days and i'm free on weekends.

I am in the process of bench bleeding the new master for 68 so hopefully it's off the lift in the next few days. After that, I am game for anything here.
