Blower cam with best drivability with stock converter
I've been looking for a good cam that's best suited for normal daily driving. Not really after huge cam gains or a choppy idle.
Just something easy on the valvetrain and pairs well with my lsa blower and stock torque converter if I choose not to get a circle D unit. Current mods: - GPI SS1 VVT cam - LSA blower kit - 2.50 upper pulley - TSP headers - ZL1 fuel pump - Ron Davis HX - D3 coolant tank - ZL1 JLT intake Mods coming next: -Ported blower and snout - interchiller - ID1080X injectors - fore fuel pump or aux pump - flex fuel - VVT delete - 102mm throttle body - transmission cooler - 2.75 upper pulley (maybe? Since the new cam won't have a lot of overlap) Cams I'm considering: - BTR PDS Stage 1 cam Specs: 223/238 .610/.585 120+6 -LS9 Power Max LS cam Specs: 216/239 .600/.600 122+4 - GM OEM LS9 cam Specs: 211/230 .558/.552 122+5 Given the 3 I'm considering what do you think the hp difference is between the 3 and if there is any other baby blower cams that's worth looking into? I'm more concerned about reliability and drivability, but just curious what you all think these cams make compared to each other. 600ish whp is plenty for me on the street.

Call your tuner or Texas speed. They will find the perfect cam for your needs. Plus a converter changes the car a lot especially cammed. It will only help your driveability while being cammed.

the oem ls9 drives exactly like stock and gains are decent (20-30hp)

That may be the route I go. Also nice not having to do maintenance on the valvetrain.

We are running a 229/244 118LSA with a stock converter, stock cube LSA,878RWHP on boost only(CTS-V,6L90 car).We can pretty much tune it to have a rough idle or a smooth idle. Tuning plays a big role in idle and drivability. It can be done.
