If you ladies have never tried that, well, it's just amazing!!! (We only do a breast because there's only 4 of us that eat turkey.) My Mom makes Pepperidge Farm Herb stuffing. My LORD that stuff is SOOOOO good!

I think we do good working together. It sure makes my life easier!

Had to laugh at that, my sister volunteered to bring the pies to my
mom and dads way back when mom was cooking the whole deal. So
she shows up hiding frozen pies and was going to drop them into the
pie plates and no one would be the wiser - except they were smaller
than the pie pans - - we still crack up over that one. She has
since cooked any pie she offers to make

I have no shame, Becky! I grab those suckers outta the freezer, pop 'em in the oven and GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

In all seriousness, I made a pumpkin cheesecake years ago. I was so proud of it! Not only did it look pretty, it was super delicious, too! Guess who ate it? Me! No one wanted to try it. They said it sounded "disgusting". So, frozen (chocolate, apple & pumpkin) pies it is!

No one wants/needs to see pics of me, but I have a lot of sisters here too. Greatest bunch of peeps on planet earth!!!
Anyway my sig pic is my Ruby Jewel on display in the show room of one of our local dealerships. When I told them all about Oshawa last summer they wanted her front and center with factory pics, so we hooked up the lap top and a large screen monitor in the trunk and showed a slide show of the Oshawa factory tour and BBOMG. People loved seeing the build process.

Last year I made a pecan pie that didn't set and my last cake I made turned out lopsided. So I'm leaving the desserts to my SIL who can make the best chocolate pie from scratch in the microwave. Yep Thanksgiving is getting to be my fav holiday too. Way less stressful than Christmas.

I LOVE Christmas. I have everyone over to my house, about 25 total and
we just kinda hang out all day and catch up with each other. We have tons of food out to pick at all day instead of trying to do a sit down meal. Some of the young married ones have to run from house to house so we're pretty unscheduled. My dad still passes out all the presents just like when we were kids Can't wait - going to get 90% of my shopping in the stores and on line done this weekend Then all the decorations on 12/2 - then cookies with CynAgain and her little one on the 17th Sooo much fun!!

My favorite new recipe is a rum cake recipe I found on the internet and I tweaked it a bit. I never thought I'd say it, but it's better than chocolate!

Rum Cake

Ingredients:
1 lb chopped walnuts
1 yellow cake mix (without pudding added)
1 small package instant vanilla pudding
4 eggs
1/2 cup cold milk
1 stick of butter, melted
1/2 cup Bacardi dark rum

---Glaze---
1/2 cup butter
1 Tbsp. water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup rum

Preparation:
Cake: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9x11 cake pan. Sprinkle half the nuts on bottom of pan. Combine all cake ingredients. Beat for 2 minutes on high with electric mixer. Pour into prepared pan. Sprinkle the remaining nuts on top. Bake for about 1 hour. Cool in pan.

Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in rum. Note: The rum will cause steam. Be careful not to burn yourself.

Prick top of cake with skewer. Drizzle or spoon glaze over top of cake.
