Arrow Trade or Mod?

I bought my 2010 Camaro 2SS A6 2 months ago. After driving it for the past two months, I have come to hate AFM but I'm not sure whether I'm ready to void the warranty yet. I just recently completed my first mod (Muffler delete) and it just compounds the problem of the AFM. I like driving my automatic but I have driven stick before and I like it as well. So, with that, I pose to you this question. Should I just void the warranty and tune out the AFM or should I trade it in for a 2011 2SS M6?

I think you'll loose your ass if you trade for a 2011 (well, maybe not that bad)...but if you can afford the hit then go for the LS3.. IMO.

If you gonna mod it out and have the power, might as well be you in control of it.

Either way, have fun!

How many miles do you have on it? How much did you pay for it, whats the trade in value, and how much do you want to lose?

Its your money, if it makes you happy and you lose some money and you can afford it. Trade or try to sell it. And get the M6.

Is the AFM really that bad? I bought the 6 speed and I love it!! but I never really drove the automatic so I am in the dark on this. My Hemi Magnum had MDS that was like that but never really noticed it.

I say tune out the AFM, eventually you're gonna get the modding bug whether its an LS3 or L99 so might as well void the warranty with the car you have now

I guess that brings up another question. When I bought the car, I got the extended bumper to bumper warranty. If I do decide to void the warranty, how long do I have to wait before I can cancel the extended warranty and how much would I get back? I only have 2600 miles on it.

Champ,
I see you are in Columbus, Ohio. I can recommend a great shop to do your tune work. They've done all the work on my car.

Back to your question... I would call your dealer and ask them about the extended warranty. You should also have the paperwork. If you can decipher all the legal mumbo jumbo in that, it should be in there too.

Thanks Darth. I will have to look through the paperwork for the warranty info. If you could, PM me the info on the shop that does your work. I've also been looking into getting an SCT tuner. Is that what they use to upload the tunes to your ECM or do they use something different?

I use IPS Motorsports. They are north of Columbus near Powell. ipsmotorsports.net

I would highly recommend you have them dyno tune your car. Stop by IPS and ask them if you can see their shop and ask about tuning. My car is there right now. They're finishing up a cam install.

TUNE IT OUT......if you are serious about your car, you will end up doing some engine mods sooner than later....and if you DON'T tune it.....its really a waste of money in the first place.

You would loose enough money on the trade in to pay for a supercharger...........

That's what I was thinking.

MOD THAT THING!!!

Depending on what you get done, and where, you may be able to get a warranty from the shop. I got a 3 yr 36,000 mile warranty on my work.
