MD, VA, DE, whoever else leaving for the fest on Wednesday morning check in here pls

I read through some of the other threads, and there's a mix of folks leaving Wednesday and Thursday. I'd like to leave Wednesday morning and I hope a few of you will come with me.

Likely leaving outside Baltimore in the early morning, going out I70 to 340 and cutting across Harpers Ferry WV and picking up I81S in Winchester VA. I go this way often and it's way quicker than going around 495 to 66. I'll either pick up 64 and run across WV or just stay on 81 all the way through VA. That's a nice drive and my preferred route. Easy drive with rest stops all along the way.

Anyone wanna go with me? I was hoping to go with Ernie and the VA crew but looks like they're leaving on Thursday.

If there's more interest, we can nail down meeting times and such if anyone wants to meet up with me.

That route sounds excellent for me. I practically live off of I-70 so it wouldn't be hard to meet up. I'm hoping a friend of mine can join us; he's in northern VA, so he might meet us closer to harpers ferry.

Awesome, at least I'm not driving alone! Probably be in Frederick around 0800-ish. Anyone else?

Going all the way down 81 is right at 11 hours from Baltimore. If it's just those of us from right around b-more going though and none of the VA crew want to meet up with us, we could do 70 to 68 to Morgantown WV then down 79 through WV to Charleston, WV then hitting I64 toward Lexington, KY. That saves us about an hour.

I'm really fine with either way though. The drive down 81 all the way through VA is a nice easy drive with plenty of places to stop along the way whenever you want.

They could come straight across I64 and meet up with us on 81S around Staunton. If they'll post up here, we can try to nail down a time and location to meet.

Hey man! Be great to see you guys again. Staunton is a little over 3 hours from B-more. If we leave at 0700L, we should be in Staunton around 10am.

I'm gonna give this thread another day or so and then post a route with times and such.

We're leaving Wednesday morning relatively early. I'm trailering mine down though....impossible to fit 4 adults with drag radials and luggage in a Camaro.

If my wife and her sister weren't completely against it, I'd sure as heck try. It was hard enough though with just me and my brother-in-law with all of the essentials...and copious amounts of alcohol of course.

What time do you think you'll make it down? I see if you are in Fredrick MD by 0800 you are probably looking at a 6-8 PM arrival on Wed? I need to look and see if the guys/gals have finalized the Wed night meet and greet. I was planning on leaving Front Royal, VA right off I-66 at 0500 but willing to wait until 0600. I posted what I believe should be a route and time that will allow for others to meet up and wait time at each stop. I know you folks higher up this might be to early? If we shorten the layover at the stops we might still make it in pretty early. I didn't want to be to late in checking in. I was going to try and go to the Corvette Museum for a quick visit on Wed evening but I haven't looked at the time for that yet (when they close). Just my thoughts...
