Focal 165KR vs Hertz HSK 165XL

So I'm about to pull the trigger on a complete system for my 13' Camaro. I'm going with 6.5 components in both the stock front and the rear locations. The last part of the system I'm undecided on is the speakers. I'm trying to decide between the Focal 165KR's and the Hertz HSK 165XL's. Does anyone have experience with either of these speakers. I can get both for $500 so it essentially comes down to SQ performance. Any input helps!

I can speak for the 165KRC Focal which sound very good, awesome sound stage, I used these in the door and replaced the OEM tweeters also with JL Tweeters, both are delivering very crisp highs with no harshness regardless of volume level along with very clean tight mid-bass from the woofer side of the Focal. I have not tried the Hertz but have heard nothing but good about them, just as the Focal.

Be careful paying $500 for a $1,500 speaker system (Focal 165KRx2). This speaker line and the x3 ($2,000++) are two of the most scammed lines on the market. You'll order from Amazon/eBay and receive an empty box with rocks in it. I wouldn't touch it unless physically standing inside an authorized retailer's shop and he's handing you a sealed box. $500 is below dealer cost, confirmed personally a few months ago when I was researching the X3's and just now with your local dealer at lunch on the X2's.

I would highly recommend listening to the Precision Power line.

It wasn't the KRx2's I was looking at, just the KR's which are normally $850. A drop from $850 to $500 doesn't worry me to much.

Agreed, that sounds more in line with a fire (close out) sale. PPI is sending me an updated list of their authorized reps in the US, I'll cross between Focal and Hertz and see who has all 3 in house (if any).
