Z28 knuckles vs as knuckles
I have a 2010 ss with the rear knuckles going bad. I have seen post on here with people upgrading to z28 knuckles. Are the z28 knuckles a direct fit? Also, what is the advantage to the one over the other?

i have a 2011. i put the Z knuckles on my car and they fit perfect with no changes needed. i dont know all the facts and figures but they have at least one set of better bushings i think. mine were shot. the front radius arms are direct fit too. i did that because i needed the ball joints too. also look into that wider rear sway if you havent already. BIG improvement over that 6 inch wide FE3 rear sway lol.

What part of the knuckle is going bad...?
The Z28 knuckles contain a stiffer bushing for the trailing arm.

BMR is fine. what im talking about on the rear sway is the two styles of bars. one style is very narrow. the newer style is much wider and way better. if you didnt replace the LCAs, then you probably have the old style rear bar. this is not a preference thing. the wider rear bar makes it a better more stable car. it cures that wobble and hunting of the rear that the old gen 5s have.
if you just street drive and your not having a problem, then no biggie. if you autoX , or road track the car, you need that wider rear bar. |

FE3 vs. FE4 lower control arms. FE4 let you use the outboard sway bars as JOHNSONROD said...
