just took a look on the hennessey site.....kinda looks like the v6 is getting the short end of the stick....the v8 intake looks polished and really nice...the v6 looks like a flat silver and doesnt have nearly as nice of a bend to it in comparison to the v8...

the v6 even kinda bends upwards vs staying level and there the same price!!! plus what is the hp gain on the v6?!?

Teccboxx - thanks for a great product review. I don't feel you are bashing Hennessy - just reporting what you experienced. I was really hoping for a better review, because I was planning on this unit for my 1LT. I lied what I heard about the V8 version, so I was hoping the V6 was a good, and looked as good. This version is butt ugly!

Thanks Hennessey for stepping up to correct this problem - thats great to see!

Can some one please post pics of what the "real" version looks like - and some accurate #'s? I'm still interested, especially after Hennessey stepped up.

Teccboxx - let us know how this works out! (Hopefully good!)

Nick

Well I talked with Dave at Hennessey today and got a lot of things straightened out. He is a real class act and was a pleasure to deal with.

On to answering some questions:

Quote:

The picture there does show it bending upwards but it is different from mine and it seems to be backwards there. Once installed it is level most the way and then it actually bends down where the filter attaches.

The one I recieved was bead blasted, I do agree a polished or painted tube is the only way to go. I think they can help with that if I read some of the V8 threads correctly.

Let me know exactly what you need to know and I will do my best.

From what I am told it will give a 8-14hp gain

Hmm 8-14 Hp, what did they project about tq? AirRaid claims 11 hp/14 tq at a cheaper price. To me, the 14 Tq looks mighty delicious.

On a 2nd look.. AirRaid costs $279 currently through preorder and it comes with a housing and dyno is shown..

So whats the deal Hennessy?

I was told the UD pulley on my Stang would give me 12 RWHP gain... turned out to be more like 4 to 6 RWHP... Which is why I always independently dyno my mods... LOL!

ok... Airaid did post a dyno sheet in their thread...

They left off the actual HP and TQ numbers...

I did print it out and got my ruler out... I would say 11 RWHP/ 14 RWTQ is a bit on the optimistic side.... I'm thinking it looks more like 6 to 7 RWHP and 8 to 9 RWTQ... IMHO, YMMV...

Personally I'm waiting for someone to get a tuner out for this car... Think the biggest gains are going to be a CAI/Tuner combo.... Probably going to be a while yet, but I'm doing my best to be patient! LOL!

It is nice to see them try and fix the mistake, but like the saying also goes. "you don't get a second chance to make a first impression" and this is my first impression of hennessy.

I think pouring all there energy on the V8 and ignoring the V6 is a monster mistake. This V6 is going to change the way people think about this kind of motor on these type's of cars. I can see a lot of demand happening with this V6. Time will tell
