Advice on trans cooler mounting location-with pic

Hey guys. I'm trying to decide on where and how to mount a trans cooler. 1st off, I'm doing a stand alone cooler without routing through radiator; have my reasons. 2nd on advice of cooler manufacturer and a trusted C5 member I'm need to go with at least a 34 stacked plate cooler.

The diagram below illustrates 1. (Red) Top center back close to condenser. 2. (Blue) lower right and mounted to crash bar. And 3. (Green) 2 smaller 16 rows ran in series (if possible).

Some concerns that have ran through my mind as I over think this is;

Will the red cooler location block to much air and/or introduce hot cooler air into radiator defeating the effort to lessen the heat stress on it?

Will the blue location have too much surface area blocked by crash bar/fascia to be effective even though there is flow from lower valance moving in and up the surface?

Problems with running two coolers in series more or less effective than 1 big one?

Just looking for any suggestions, thoughts or concerns before I tear into this. TIA.

The lower area has the highest air pressure so it will get a lot of air. I've found that if I put in the biggest cooler (upper in my case), heat is not a problem. IF you have no other coolers to worry about, I'd get the biggest cooler that will fit in the lower area (green).

Otherwise, what I did has worked perfectly:

Adding air dams also helps direct the air where you want it...

I installed Tru-Cool Max LPD 30,000 Transmission Oil Cooler 4921-1 49211
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

in the lower area since it just the right size for the lower slot.

Interesting....Did you completely remove the "plastic" air deflecter or modify it. Wondering if a "frame for the cooler could be made and fitted inside the existing plastic deflector. I do have an aftermarket lower splitter/valance that would cause some additional problems. Thanks for helping me think outside the box.

I think your right on point. I used a tru-cool 40k with a thermostat “stand alone” works great and no overheating issues. I run a intercooler and oil cooler as well in the same area.

Works perfect at all speeds. deflector is just blocking airflow.

I know you already finished yours, but for anyone else interested. This is how I mounted mine. Cooler is an eBay special 7x17x2" with -6 an lines. Never seen over 190° cruising hot SC days around town.
