All my lights time out and turn off automatically, doesn't matter how they have been turned on.

The body control module cuts power to all lights and accessories after 10 minutes or so. It doesn't matter if they are switches on or off. They call this going into 'sleep' mode. There are a lot of ways to get the car out of sleep mode like press lock or unlock on the key fob, open a door, turn on the radio etc. You probably did something to 'wake the car up' and the light came back on and you assumed it was on the whole time. Leave the light on again and watch it, I bet it will go out.

I'm just wondering why people are putting in sealed batteries when there suppose to be vented. The original one is vented because the battery is installed in an enclosed area where the battery can't breath & hot in the enclosed area.

Bump

Has anyone put any kind of load/drain on these when the car isn't running. My air/water pump has to run while the car is sitting in my pit. just wondering if the 21lbs would be up to the task or would be better going with the optima

That's a lot of foam

All you have to do is turn it around.

While searching this site & others about small, light batteries I found some interesting posts. Even though this is an old post I think what I found might be useful. I'm no battery expert but here it is.

One battery site I visited said that the Reserve Capacity of a battery is more meaningful to getting you started, etc. than CCA or CA. Reserve is the number of minutes a battery can maintain useful voltage with a 25 amp discharge. So look at that rating in choosing a product. Most deep cycle batteries have a high reserve rating & Optima has two 26 lb. "Yellow Top" batteries, models D-51 or D51R that are Deep Cycle. Odyssey has a 20 lb battery, PC950, that is also deep cycle. Some guy's were saying that the Braille battery is made by Odyssey. But Odyssey had higher specs & is more expensive. I can't say either way but they do look a lot alike.

That's incorrect. East penn makes them and then companies like Braille slap their stickers on. Here is the exact same battery for, half the cost

Flyer, Thanks for the info. As I said, I'm no expert on batteries but plan to try one of the lighter models.
