only if that shot also shoots extra fuel.
in a sense, that would be tuning the system, but you might get away with not touching the factory ECU (in a hypothetical mental masturbation kind of way).
You wouldn't be able to adjust spark either.
I wouldn't do it.

I'd be worried about the timing- but then again if you tune for nitrous and don't use nitrous all that often... seems the timing would be way off and hurt performance when not spraying.

Why you have controllers.

Ability yes, depending on gas quality the timing doesn't need to be brought down with a small shot wet kit.

Safety, well if you were worried about safety then you would tune for it wouldn't you?

Anytime you add a large power adder to provide durability you re-calibrate the PCM.

Right- but the OP was inquiring about tuning for it or not, no mention of controllers. I'd be curious what controllers people have had good luck with. I've been using nitrous for years, but mostly multi-stage with old school controllers on Mallory ignitions.
Nitrous systems these days seem overpriced compared to what they used to be. Just a simple bottle/jet dry shot kit is pretty expensive considering there's not much to it.

LNC-2000 to pull timing and a WOT/Window switch and you'll be good with a 50 no doubt. A 100 would most likely be ok but there is a small amount of risk involved at that point.

Use a wet system with an LNC 2000 to pull timing, a window switch with tps and non projected plugs. Keep the factory tune.

this

I would run only a 50 shot with higher octane if you dont wanna retard timing, which is the 'only tuning' you do to your pcm for nitrous. Of course there is all the A/F ratio tuning you have to do with jets but with recommended jets you are usually alright with a 50 shot, even to 150 np. Just be sure to always have fuel.
