Just so that this thread is not a total waste - I would like to see a reputable shop chime in and validate or discredit the claims that the OP has made.
In my opinion, I cannot ever see a STS kit producing 20-30 psi. Just the quote of 20-30 psi in itself show some level of questionable knowledge as there is a massively huge difference in making 20psi compared to making 30 psi. Then the question is - can a V6 block handle even 20 psi? I am very aware that the crank are noted as being factory built strong parts but throw 20 psi at anything not forged and you will seperate the boys from the men. So the question is - is this at all possible given the budget, platform and mods the OP mentions? 20 - 30 psi + 150hp shot = explosion on some of the strongest of built engines, no less a 305hp rated V6. |

Someone should build an old school Buick V-6 turbo for a Camaro. Start with a 4.1L iron block, built right those will hold huge boost. Today's basic aluminum DOHC passenger car V-6's will just scatter itself at high boost/power levels.
To see some real V-6 power, do some youtube searching for 7 and 8 second Grand Nationals. |

I would absolutely agree with you if the guy wasn't an obvious troll. But he made claims that were just simply bogus. I submit that it would have been worse for him if he wasn't called out. Where do you get this from? If you see it happening, hit your report button. The OP was the one banned. So we should facilitate an obvious BS story? Quote:
For some reason this made me LOL......... Quote:

Of course there are all kind of people in every group, but in this case the OP came in obviously trying to antagonize. And nobody told him anything that wasnt' true. Quote:

Face to face this whole conversation starts with his comment, and ends with laughter from both sides. He was not serious. OR, he would be serious and explain exaclty how he plans on doing it. Quote:
We are talking about THIS platform. And we are talking about power and torque. I also thought about this. The car mentioned from Hurst was claiming, I'm assuming just under 500 horse power and I have no doubt it was a stick. 3 to 4 percent less drivetrain loss and a more solid tranny makes a difference. Honestly not being negative... but i would by the 2ss in your situation. and then with the rest either use it for gas money, or look for some basic mods that would be effective.

You gotta be a pretty good troll if your thread is still getting to people after you are banned. If he is banned why hasn't this thread been closed? The humor has worn off.

He wasn't banned for this thread.
Nor does it appear he was banned for his response to anything in this thread. He did, however, speak strongly in another thread. As I read through it this morning I found myself hoping he was serious and Torq was gonna do it. The Hurst car is interesting. It claims 500 RWHP-ish. The link that was put up in this thread. |
