mike,

it is worth it. the throw between the gears is much shorter. the shift from 1st to 2nd is super easy.

The hurst shifters on the Autos is it just a change on the knob itself, or are there any changes with linkage or anything other than the looks?

Installed the Hurst shifter in December of 2009. One of the first ones out. Notice no Hurst on the side of the ball.

I had a 2010 with the standard shifter. Frequently I went from 2nd to 5th when speed shifting. Traded that on a 45th edition with the short throw and it was night and day. In addition to having a way better feel, I've never missed a shift since. Great upgrade.

My Hurst shifter was my first mod. I love it . Still have to get the bushing upgrade though.
