Thumbs up Here's some Pictures of My 2SS Having a Muffler Delete & X-Pipe Installed Today.

Hey guys,...

I just picked up my car from the dealership on wednesday and today I went down to have the Stock Mufflers, Resonators and H-Pipe Removed and to have a Magnaflow 2.50" Tru-X X-Pipe Installed with only 54 Miles on the car.

Boy & Girls,... This Car Sounds So Freaking Sweet.

I thought that it was going to be a lot louder than what it actually is but it's not as loud as I had expected it to be.

I still have an AirAid Cold Air Intake sitting in my office here in the box that I need to install in to her, Maybe I'll have time to getting around to installing that as well.

As of right now I only have pictures to show you but I'm going to be taking some Videos of her tomorrow.

Here's a few pictures of about 30 I took today,...
To view more pictures check out My Garage Here and let me know what you think.

1 x Magnaflow X-Pipe Cost $83.00
+ Custom Exhaust Work $220.00
= Tad over 3 Franklins.

+1 To Do Recommended Upgrade.

Black LS3.
A.K.A. Jim

Left Side Stock Muffler.

Right Side Stock Muffler.

Stock Resonators & H-Pipe.

Stock Cats, Not Sure What All 4 Of These Actually Are, I'm Use To Only Seeing 1 Cat On Each Side.

Stock Resonators and H-Pipe, Check out how the Right Side is Pinched.

Stock Mufflers.

Magnaflow 2.50" Tru-X X-Pipe Installed.

FINISHED, My Car Coming Down Off Of The Lift.

I Asked If He Could Get The Tips To Stick Out About an Inch More Than Stock, I Think I Got About 1.50" or 2 Inches. I Still Think It Looks Great Tho.

Sorry for this stupid question, but by removing the muffler and adding the x-pipe, how has the cars performance changed, if any? and exhaust sound changes aswel?

Thanks

I've been tossing back and forth the idea of doing this or putting electric cutouts in.

OMG 4 cats(or are 2 of them resonators)??? WTF im going to the exhaust shop on my next day off... I already have the muffler delete, but it looks like I will be doing a bit more work. X pipe and... umm... 4 cat(or resonators) deletes. Thats an odd setup to say the least. I havent been under my car. I had the dealer send it to the muffler shop the day before I picked it up for the muffler delete.

That's 4 cats and 2 resonators. Looks closely at the 6th and 7th pictures and you can identify the four cats up front and the two resonators further back.

Hella Titanium in that exhaust! lol

Junk em all!

Yea I knew the small ones were resonators without a doubt, but I haven't seen a car with pre-cat/rear-cat setup in years...

Hey 1badtie,...

The X-Pipe is better in the way that the Gasses get Equalize inside of the Pipes before exiting out of the Tips and is said to improve on HP somewhat vs. an H-Pipe where the Gasses dont have the ability to Exchange or Equalize as well as an X-Pipe can. If I'm wrong on this Please Correct Me.

Hey WongBob,...

Yeah,.. I'm not totally for sure what is going on there myself as I stated above that picture. I dont know if that is 4 Cats or 2 Cats and Something else and If that is the case,... Then which ones are the actual Cats and can the other things be Cut off?

No Stupid Questions Asked Bud,...
You might be able to get the answer that your looking for as far as how the car may perform once this is done to it by reading what I just wrote above to WongBob. I can't really tell if this has made any difference what so ever because this is only the 3rd Day and 2nd Morning that I've owned the car. The Car had 54 Miles on her when I took her in to have this done and since I'm still in the Break In Period I havent been able to Jump on the Throttle as much as I would like to but maybe someone who owned their vehicle for longer than I have and then did this kind of setup to their exhaust will chime in and let us both know what if any performance Gain we might see by doing this.

As far as how does the car sound now,... Man thats kind of hard to explain. The Exhaust sounds A Lot more Crisp then what it did before and I think the Longer that I have it like this it'll sound even better because it'll have a chance for Exhaust Carbons to build up in the new pipes which should improve it's sound even more.

Your best bet is to go to YouTube and Search "2010 Camaro Muffler Delete" and You'll find a lot of videos there that you can listen to and better understand what were saying.

A lot of people dont remove their Resonators for some reason and that will give it a slightly different tone as well.

Hope this helped.

Well the ones in front of the O2's are definitely cats. Behind the O2's could be a second set of cats or it could be a large resonator. You can cut the rear two off because there is no sensor behind them, but you will need to have it tuned to cut off the front cats. Im going to cut all mine off and do the x pipe when I get home and see what it sounds like... then put some Spintech's on it more than likely.
