Brake Upgrade

So now the racing season is done (podium'd in class, yay) and because brakes are due anyway, I'm taking this opportunity to ugprade to C7 Z06 front hardware, stainless steel lines all the way around, the Carbotech AX6 pads all the way around.

Question is, other than calipers, rotors, pads, lines, and fluid, do I need anything else?

Heat dust shields? Bolts/Clips?

And for braided lines I went and got a ZL1 kit which I assume will fit up correctly with the Corvette calipers. Please let me know if my assumptions are incorrect.

Sounds like you have most everything you need. There are several discussions on here about the conversion.

You will love the improved braking.

Good luck,
Craig

Nick S's List on the 3rd post has all that you will need besides new caliper bolts.
https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8744227

The only issue I ran into was that the ZL1 braided lines I got did not fit through the tab that holds the line at the hard line connection. Had to drill that tab out a bit to fit it.

You will wonder why you didn't do this upgrade sooner!

The hoses I used are Goodridge, I didn't have any problems.

Thanks everyone (especially Trawz for the link to that other thread). Parts ordered and on the way.

When I did mine, the Goodridge hoses were on a 2 month back order everywhere I looked...

I went with PowerStop lines. They worked great except for being exactly the same size as the hole in the bracket. Just a quick hit with a stepped drill bit fixed that.

If you can get the Goodridge lines, those are the ones to have. I compromised because I was wanting to beat the end of the racing season here.

Rock Auto for the calipers and Amazon should have good offers on the rotors.

Make sure you’re buying genuine parts and not counterfeit parts. Buddy originally from Detroit was telling me about a program he watched that exposed counterfeit parts for sale imported from elsewhere.

I got from Summit Racing - so I'm going to guess I got the good stuff.
