NON RS RED HALOS LEDS AND MORE DIY PROJECT !!!
NON RS CAR HALO INSTALLATION This is the first part of the project where we separate the two pieces of the headlight assembly to install the LED halos. I reccomend using an oven that isnt used for cooking for people although many people say it isnt enough heat to cause any harm id rather not find out. We were lucky enough to have a member of the club who happen to use an oven for powder coating and other automotive jobs. It took some doing and some patience but with using the oven it wasnt too hard a job. The idea is to heat up the glue enough so the two pieces can be pryed apart. We found the best results at 275 for a half hour. (very special thanks to Kendell, Pete Caliendo for the assemblys Carole and Bruce Miller for the oven and all the help) you guys are what it is all about TOTAL TIME: 1.5 hours including bake time TOOLS NEEDED: oven heat gun flat head screwdriver ice pick nylon pry bars utility knife work gloves PARTS LIST:" A SKUNK POSSESSED " 1. HID BI XENON HEADLIGHTS EBAY $52 2. HEADLIGHT TINT 6% SMOKED FROM BIG WORM GRAPHICS $29 3. ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE CREATIONS RED HALOS $189 4. LED SUPER BRIGHT LIGHTING 19 INCH RED STRIPS (5) $52 5. UNPAINTED HERITAGE GRILL FESLERBUILT.COM $230 FREE SHIPPING 6. RADIO SHACK ILLUMINATED SWITCHES use gloves the assemblys gets hot its a bit of work to get at all the glue GM did a great job putting this together Last edited by 1969to2010; 02-16-2011 at 05:43 PM. |

Nice pics!
I love seeing DIY stuff. I will say that you should've put some HID projectors in there while you had them open. HID projectors one of the best mods I've done to my car. You should consider going back into your light and adding them. They are 10x better than just a HID bulb....and I speak from experience. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120440

Exactly the reason you need projectors. They are crazy bright because they are right in everyones eyes. If you cant afford projectors you cant afford HIDs. If you didnt do all the other lighting stuff you could have afforded 150 for projectors. |

I dont need projectors at all my HIDs ( which I can afford because I bought them) are perfect with the tints. My lighting mods cost 100$ shipped come out to a meet and see for yourself im in NY also. to each thier own, but im pretty happy with the way the mods went. PS: my lights arent blinding with the tints Last edited by 1969to2010; 02-18-2011 at 10:06 PM. |

Thank God he did harass me. I did look into them and he was 100% correct. Take it from a un-biased person who has had the Halogen, 8k HID bulbs, 6k HID bulbs, and then 5k projectors. I will promise you if you took a ride in my car you would be a believer as well and you would put the projectors in as fast as you could. I can also tell you that you can get them for $160 shipped. I know because I did. Again, first hand experience. You already have the ballasts and the relay harness. All you need is the projectors and bulbs. Just call TheRetrofitSource.com (info is in my thread) and get a quote. You'll see. Ask if you have any questions. Since ya'll are both in NY you need to go see his projectors in person. BTW: Sorry I jacked your thread. After I posted I thought about it and should've just sent you a PM. If you want just let me know and I'll delete my posts on here.

Just trying to inform people about the use of projectors over HID bulbs.
