Hey guys, first post in here! So far, I’ve been able to find all the answers I need, but this one still leaves me with questions.
I have a 2011 LS3/M6 car with headers and intake that I just put a TSP Stage 3 cam in. I’m getting it ready for the dyno and my tuner recommended that I put in some NGK TR6 plugs. I have always ran the OEM AC Delco plugs, but I know that the TR6 is a commonly used plug for these cars. I used a NGK plug (not sure which model) in my truck before (fbo, cam) and it seemed like it was running a little rich so I switched back to OEM one. From what I can understand from past posts, the TR6 is a colder plug than the OEM spec and works better in F/I applications. However, I did see some say it’ll do well with a cammed N/A car and others bash it. Then, as I kept digging, apparently there is more than one model of the TR6? So, what am I missing out on? Is it worth changing to the TR6? Is there a specific one I need to purchase? What are the benefits? Pros and Cons? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. TIA |

Hey there, most of us guys cammed and tuned I believe are running NGK TR6IX's, which are the iridium plugs, I am as that is what my tuner suggested. DO NOT buy from Amazon or Flea Bay, as there are cheap China fakes out there!! And they are garbage..

^^ +1 I've been recommended and happy with the IX NGKs.The benefit is they work and iridium it will last as long as I own the car. AC delco can be good buy fakes if bought online.
Edit; ouch things are expensive now |

May want to check country of origin. Last AC Delcos I purchased from A-zone (for my '94 GMC) were made by our "good friends" in China. Pretty sure NGKs are still made in Japan. I'll take Japanese quality over Chinese crap all the time!

FYI, the iridium spark plugs sold under the AC Delco name are made by......you guessed it, NGK. Some of them even say NGK on the metal base. All of them say made in Japan.

To back that up, I am one of those that purchased fake plugs from Amazon. I still have a 'brand new' pack of 8 Delcos. The previous set melted within 15k miles, likely from not being actual Iridium. I think they had Chinesium electrodes.
