scratch removal

I have some surface scratches on my windows. looks like a previous owner may have tried to remove water spots with steel wool. any suggestions on how to get those off?

It depends on how deep the scratches are. If they catch with a fingernail, it might be better to just replace the windshield. However, if they're shallow and light enough where it doesn't catch on your fingernail, you can try one of those glass polishing kits.

Some cerium oxide/glass polishing compound with a 3" felt pad used on a dual action polisher would probably give you the best results. Griots sells a small kit (polishing compound and 3" felt pads) if you have a DA polisher.
