My LS3 feels a little laggy in 1st
Have about 4k miles on car, CAI installed back in Nov 09 and LT headers w/cats done about 2 months back. This past week i felt a loss in power with first gear accelerating from 1-2k rpm, before it was much snappier and now it doesnt even sound as loud.
Has anyone else had this problem?? Dealer found nothing wrong... Going to run the gas out and disconect the battery tonight. |

Did you get a custom tune for your mods?

Sounds like the low octane table. You will need to get that low octane gas run out, and reset the comp by pulling the battery for a while. Sometimes that does not gaurantee that it resets, but it is your best bet.
It could be time to get the custom dyno tune you have always dreamed of LOL!!!! |

get a scanner... and see how much timing is in your motor... easy way to figure out if you are on the low or high octane fuel tables.

Hate it when that happens....can clear out a whole room.
Yeah, seriously, I'd consider the same thoughts to be true. I've had it happen a couple times before in other cars and you can definitely tell something is afoot. Best of luck and keep us posted, Ivan |

Yeah maybe some bad gas threw off the octane tables...
Also, and I'm just throwing possibilities out there, do you think that heat soak might be a factor? Now that it's getting warmer you might have a little more heat soak in your engine compartment. Especially being that you mentioned that you installed your intake in November and your LT headers 2 months ago (cooler months) you might have gotten use to your car's performance in cooler temperatures and it might just be performing differently due to heat soak from warmer temperatures in these warmer months. Just a possibility... But anyway I would check on the gas first because that's probably your problem. Hope you figure it out and good luck!

Did the dealer just tell you it's your CAI and headers and that's not their problem? They love to tell you that your aftermarket parts are the reason your car has a problem. Been there done that myself before. Ended up being their problem.

This may sound funny but the problem is gone and i've done nothing but drive the car around. It only lasted about two days...very strange.

Since you put LT's on your car I still would get a custom tune though

People are crazy if they don't think their cars have personalities. I have a friend as a witness that my previous 2003 350z tuner would throw a check engine light if it became too dirty. It would stay on until I washed it and then go off immediately after. Your was just having a bad couple days.
