I currently own an ATS-V, and all I will say is the CTS-V is a wonderful machine. I'd be sided to have to go with the Cadillac. If money were no object, of course. Albeit, I'm waiting for the Z!

Why would they even compare the 2, because they have LT4? That is just horrible journalism. Especially comparing gen3 CTS-V which is a 100k+ and a 4 door SEDAN to a COUPE (don't say ZL1 has back seats lol. Insurance purposes, sure. For human beings? Nope). I LOVE the gen3 CTS-V, truly do. I'd take it over ANY M or AMG sedans.
CTS V + ZL1 would be a better topic haha. Though, I would take a charger hellcat due to price. 65k vs 100+. I can only dream that Chevy would make a new SS Sedan on alpha platform with LT4 (not even LT1, LT4) and price it around charger hellcat which they easily could! ATS-V COUPE (maybe sedan) vs ZL1 should've truly been the real topic of that article. It's quite a bit better comparison. Price wise, they will most likely be close to each other. Designed for more DD AND track. |

I just don't like the "CTS-V is more comfortable" (I've sat in both, this is false), and "track car and nothing more" statements. Pretty ignorant if you ask me...but then, that site doesn't look very focused on automobiles.
It's just an opinion piece designed to elicit a response. No reason to get bent out of shape. Me? I find the ZL1 to be faster, fitter, more aggressive looking...and $20,000 cheaper. That's a lot of track days and tires. |

never heard of that site. i don't fault someone for picking a Cadillac. Similar performance in a luxury car? Why not?
the only problem was that line about the ZL1 being 'only a track car'. That just betrays the writer's ignorance. |

It's not my fault my horse is high. I've sent him to rehab a dozen times and it's not helping.

don't really understand the reasoning behind this comparison. they are two different cars in two different categories but share an engine and chassis. id own both if I could but it's gonna be the z for me

Some, not all...as is the case anywhere you have a concentration of enthusiasts...but it certainly doesn't help the matter if posts like the ones I quoted are falsely applied to the entire community.

my .02
the 83k price tag of a CTS-V keeps it way off my radar. I must be poor white trash but 60k is a lot for a toy car to me let alone 80k. if the 2017 Zl1 is 75K or up it won't be on my radar at all either. the last gen cars were not miles apart in price. I am hoping these cars will be.
