Another downfall of winter is I have too much time to sit around and research car parts. I'm pretty sure my tax returns aren't going to be in my bank account for very long. Ha. I think stronger axles are going to be needed. I know my diff is going to be a weak spot but its just not in the budget right now.

Don't do the axles, if your not going to do the rear yet, all that will do is make your rear end the weak link. At least if you keep your stock axles, they "should" break before your rear end does. Just don't launch it at high RPM's and you should be fine.

I got a season pass for the drag strip this year so its a matter of time before something breaks. I think the stock axles will go before the diff.
This is the future plan as of right now. https://gforce1320.com/product/5th-g...n-irs-housing/ Along with gforce 1400hp axles and 1 piece driveshaft. I plan to get the axles and save for the rest.

Halfshafts are easier and cheaper to replace than a rear end, that is why i believe he is suggesting you to skip the axels for now, have you considered going with a zl1 set up? You can get a new complete set up for around 4k

Ive thought about the zl1 kit but I feel like I would still need to upgrade the axles and driveshaft which wouldn't make things a whole lot cheaper.

Yea, what I am trying to tell you is what Moreair1 said. Don't bother wasting money on axles and driveshafts. Driveshaft you don't need to do anyway, but the axles are really not necessary. I would prefer to break the axles than the pumpkin. Lots cheaper. ZL1 option is a great one, save your money for that. The good news is, if you decide to ignore this advice, and do your axles and driveshaft, when you go to upgrade your rear end, You can resell them for some of the money here on C5. The SS axles and drive shaft will not fit a ZL1.

Took the car for the first drive today. All I can say is wow. Getting into boost was exciting to say the least. With temps in the 20s, there wasn't a whole lot of traction available. Now I just have to wait for warmer weather.

Just a little update. I have been working with Pat G on my tune. Was able to get out for a good drive the other night to get some decent data. Shes running pretty good. Just adjusting timing a little bit and getting the maf tweaked in. I took a short video. Sorry for the bad quality but something is better than nothing.
Today I ordered a set of Racestar Recluse wheels in 17x7 and 17x10.5. I also ordered a pair of M&H 325/45 drs for the rear and a cheap V speed rated 215/65 all season for the front. The picture below is not my car obviously, but just a pic for reference of how the wheels look.

I figured out what im doing with the rear end. I have a used zl1 diff, ds, axles, ect on the way. Its the complete rear cradle and I wont need some parts. Ill see exactly what comes on when it gets here. Get my tires mounted on the new wheels tomorrow. Im excited to see how they look.
