Nice Scooby rooter! Those are real fun cars! I was actually looking into getting one when i bought my car. The snow in WV can be unforgiving.

This intrigues me a lot. What numbers could you find to compare the WRX and the STi. It doesn't make sense that a car with higher horsepower from the factory would have slower times.

ah it looks like that was the case from 2008-2010, and for 2011, they detuned the WRX to help the STi catch up, but the WRX still edges it out a little bit. I think the main difference in timing is 5 speed vs 6 speed - one shift to 60 vs two. (even more motivation to tune the car!)

the STi is the package to have if you'll be tracking the car often, but I'm more of a once-a-year type.

you'll find these reviews from just about any car site. I'm not sure what Subaru is thinking. They gave all of the track-must have options to the STi but it should be faster then the WRX too.

the good news is, on an actual track, the brakes would be fading at the end of lap 1 on the WRX, the STi would keep on keepin on

I can see you liked the Camaro, and that you just had other priorities that required you give it up. I, also, can see that you'll be back when you are better fixed for the expenses.

More power to ya', bro! Another Oh Soo Fine Camaro will be waiting for you!

The STi gearing is ridiculously short. I have to hit 3rd to do 60mph.

It also seems like the 2011 sti is detuned slightly. Possibly because of the lean problem that caused detonation and busted ring lands in 07 models. All the testers are getting 100mph or slower traps and super high 13 ET's which is pretty slow compared to older sti models.
