I would hope no one would try to fix that, it has structural damage.

Hope everyone has a speedy recovery.

Same happend to me on a different car. An 18 wheeler ran over the front end of the car bending the pillars like yours. My INS totaled the car and pay it off, actually they gave me about 3K over and I use that for a down payment on my 2LT/RS.

Good to know you are ok. Hope to see you soon driving another beauty!!!

Back once upon a time when I worked for about 8 years as a claims adjuster - we used this formula to determine "total loss" - Replacement cost (actual cash value of a like- kind vehicle) minus salvage value. If repairs exceeded that number it was automatically a total. If the repair cost were close to that and there was potential to find a lot of hidden damage once the repair shop opened her up then I would push for it to be a total with the hopes I could squeeze a little more for the salvage value.

I can't say for certain what adjusters do today but my guess is that it isn't done much different. That would make a nice salvage car either to part out or rebuild.

ACV (Actual cash value) less the estimated salvage value determines the threshold for a total loss.
In this case the salvage may bring 50% of the ACV.
This is the approxamate dollar amount the ins appraiser will need to total this car.
If he's smart he will reach that figure.

If it isn't a total i'd push for it to be. That pillar will result in a Frankenstein job. Sucks OP. where was this at? I'm in Tampa area too.
