LSA Eaton Supercharger Bearing / Isolator Issues - Consolidated List
OK guys, it seems this is a major re-occurring problem that requires a complete SuperCharger replacement. After searching around I see there are a few threads on the subject, but even more folks posting in these threads of their own experiences which I have listed below.
I have seen nothing that indicates this problem is actually fixed other than replacing and waiting for it to happen again. For those who want to mod their cars and lose the warranty this becomes a problem. Anyone know what Eaton is doing to fix this. The Baron posted some great DIY threads on repairing these but it's definitely something I do look forward to. If you've had the bearing issue or the isolator rattle post up with your car# and mileage so we can track these. Here's what the rattle sounds like. I didn't either until mine went out and I started looking through all the threads. Quite sure I missed a few too.
It's also been 3 weeks since they ordered the SC and still on backorder... |

LOL... I'm seriously thinking about a different supercharger.. I'd hate to change this thing out every year.

Wonder if this crappy isolator contributes to the bearing failure? Any of these failures on modded cars or all stock?

From what I see here most have been under warranty but a smaller pulley would make it fail even quicker. I guarantee my next one won't be under warranty and I'll be looking for a suitable "bigger" sub. |

Updated with year and car number from Becky's ZL1 Sign-up thread.

Sorry for the question, but i dont know how this noise sounds. Maybe some video with this bearing issue, where i can listen the noise.
My sc makes also some noise, but i am not sure, what it is? I think its the isolater. Which alternative of other sc fits to the lsa on the zl1? |

If it sounds like marbles rattling around in a can then it's the isolator. Here's the bearing sound from link #2 |

Changing pulleys is great but it will void your SC warranty. Also, spinning it faster may cause this to happen sooner, but I wouldn't let that stop you. If it's going to happen it will either way. I just hope Eaton has addressed this and we won't see it in the newer cars.
