Exactly. Would be nice to hear something about the next-gen trucks.

Well the good news is, per a report a few months back, the T1XX truck was pushed up. We should see it and hopefully have it on dealer lots by late next year.

Could this get GM to dust off the 4.5 duramax?

No, the 4.5L is dead and buried from what I've heard. Its window of opportunity has passed.

I hope Ford will hurry and get this truck to market, looks like I will be loosing my present EcoDiesel soon and I don't want a 1/2 ton gas vehicle.

Apparently it’s not clean enough for the EPA. IMO it is ridiculous the attack on light duty trucks and cars which operate on diesel. First it was VW cars, now it is Dodge. GM and Chevy new diesel trucks will be next I’m sure. IMO this is clearly an effort by the EPA to eliminate diesel products in anything other than HD trucks. My truck achieved 29-31 mpg prior to Dodge flashing it during my last oil change, the fact that a full size loaded 4-wheel drive vehicle achieved that kind of fuel mileage was an embarrassment to smart car and hybrid technology presently being pushed.

Amen. I cannot come up with a good reason as to why we don't have turbo diesels available as an option in most models and sizes of vehicles produced domestically yet outside of environmental reasons. Personally, I think the environmental impact is worth it. I don't know if there's a fiscal reason from manufacturers or oil companies but I can't imagine that there would be. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I really want a factory 1/2 ton AND Suburban diesel.

GM's midsize diesels were intentionally delayed so the EPA could sign off on them, so...

I get the bureaucracy and the EPA. I just don't agree with it or like it in some aspects and the results it gets.

Cheat software installed to intentially bypass emissions is lazy for ANY automaker in this day and climate. I want my kids to be able to breath normally without the hazards of bad air just so I can have the bragging rights of having 40 or so more hp in my urban diesel cruiser.

I may not like some of the consequences of the EPA but I know its done in most part to protect us just as the FDA does for our food supply or restaurant food and health inspectors that keep us from getting sick while enjoying a night out with our families.

Remember its cause and effects on regulations being instituted. Just saying.
